I do.
Nearly everyday I have a new idea of something I’d like to build. Most of these are quasi-doable, while others stem from frustration and are pretty much impossible. Some ideas are:
- local social music sites (ahem, hearDenton…still on the the very last back burner)
- software that tracks drivers’ bad driving and penalizing them for it (maybe sending their stats to their insurance companies - also, not a project for me…I’m a web guy)
- a site to compile LOTS of information on good worship songs (I started this and accidentally deleted…oh well)
- a more stream-lined CMS solution built on WordPress
- build a premium WordPress theme
- turn the Shuttle design into a real theme
The list could go on. The point, though, is that I always have this feeling of wanting to accomplish another project. Of course I’m prevented by time mostly. If only I didn’t have to work full-time. One day…
So do you feel like this?

You have no idea… Recently I’ve been reading this book called “Invention by Design” that I picked up at HalfPrice Books. It can be found here: http://www.amazon.com/Invention-Design-Engineers-Thought-Thing/dp/0674463684/ref=pd_bbs_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1201402051&sr=8-2
… Very good book, its made me realize the following:
- COST of new ideas
- DISCERNMENT of what is desirable in cultures
- INNOVATION to make a new solution to an old problem
- PROCESS of making something new
- PROMOTION of new ideas
- ect…
I have a new idea everyday, but can do little about it… I think mostly because I lack focus… which is another thing I’m learning from the book!
O yeah, and I found this book beside it at HalfPrice, had it in my hand and then put it back because “Invention by Design” was a little more appealing:

This book might also be a good one but I dont know if its as great a read as “Invention by Design”.
Well, I feel most often like doing something new daily but my environment & culture don’t permite me.
I have a developing mind and believe in new inventions. I try to reach my inner most self, that is the three movement of spiritualities. “from loneliness to solitude, from hostality to hospitality and from illussion to prayer.I have mind of reaching up and higher.
